When Faith Moves Mountains
Sometimes Life is hard. So, where do you turn for help? Where do you find encouragement in the hard times of life? To your family members, to your friends, to influential people in society?
Remember sometimes none of these may work…But let us not get discouraged. There is someone who is always available to us. With true love and affection, He will help us. His name is JESUS. He is Emmanuel, God with us. He will give you more of a comfort than our best friends can give us. The peace He gives, surpasses all our understanding. His loving presence, that he offers to anyone seek Him, comforts and soothes better than any song that we can listen to or a party we can attend.
Scripture says: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Our Lord welcomes us in the midst of our loneliness and sufferings saying; “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
(Matthew 11:28-30. Let us blindly trust Him. He says "I will not reject anyone who comes to me."( John 6;37)
During the ministry of Jesus, the lady with hemorrhage was ritually unclean and so was not allowed to go near the public. But she trusted Jesus, and crawled silently behind Him and touched His cloth. The disciples would never have allowed her to touch either Jesus or themselves as they would become ritually unclean. But by secretly creeping behind Jesus and touching him, she was healed, and Jesus did not take offense.
She completely trusted in His mercy.
Jairus, the temple official, after seeing the health of his daughter deteriorating, went to look for Jesus. While he was waiting, his daughter died, he forgot about his position, knelt before Jesus, and asked him to bring back his child to live. He knew Jesus could. The others must have laughed at him. He didn't pay attention to them. His child was brought back to life.
Are you trusting the Lord blindly?
Mary, the sinful lady, moved slowly to Jesus as he was dining with the disciples and the Pharisees. She started kissing his feet, washing them with tears, and wiping them with her hair. They grumbled. They wanted to correct Jesus because they thought it was wrong for a prophet to allow such a person near him.
But she trusted Jesus. And her life was saved forever.
Am sure you have gone through some of these trying times. Did you sincerely turn to Jesus, and appeal for His mercy? How confident were you that He would respond? Were you worried that he will not accept it?
'Crawl' to Jesus. Be a child before Him. Trust in His mercy. And he will stretch out His hand and change your situation.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:29-31)
God bless you.
