Spirit Of God Is Bringing Light to Darkness as Of Old

There is alot of fear of the unknown in recent days. Fear is the biggest attack on our lives today as we have seen people get sick, and others die. Some too close. Some are fighting for their lives right now, and the world has never been darker.

We were meditating on the current situation, and realised that this is not a new thing. In the beginning of creation, the world was without form, and darkness covered it.

Genesis 1:1‭-‬2 In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

But the spirit of God swept over that formless and dark world. And what followed was just short sentences from the spirit of God that totally changed the world. Let there be Light! And the darkness was gone! In the next five days, God changed earth completely to what we know today.

A person like Pharaoh identified the spirit of God those days too.

Genesis 41:38‭-‬39 Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find anyone else like this—one in whom is the spirit of God?” So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you.

Pharaoh noticed that Joseph was filled with the spirit of God, and he appointed him to lead the Egyptians. Joseph had been in jail upto this time, after his brothers sold him, and after he refused Pontifars wife.

The Israelites, while moving from Egypt, needed to make the tabernacle of God. But they were in the desert, and they had been in slavery for a long 400 years. But God did something beautiful!

Exodus 35:31 He has filled him with divine spirit, with skill, intelligence, and knowledge in every kind of craft,

God picked Bezalel, and filled him with divine spirit, with skill, intelligence, knowledge, and every kind of craft. The tabernacle brought the presence of God amongst them. And filled them with hope and sense of protection.

There are several other times, but one stands out. When God told Moses that he was not to enter promised land, and that most of the generation of Israelites would die in the desert, he picked one young man Joshua.

Numbers 27:18‭-‬19 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay your hand upon him; have him stand before Eleazar the priest and all the congregation, and commission him in their sight.

Earlier, after spying on Canaan and the report by the spying crew that depressed everyone, leading to Israelites quarrelling God, Joshua had shown lots of confidence in God at such a dark moment.

Numbers 14:7‭-‬8 and said to all the congregation of the Israelites, “The land that we went through as spies is an exceedingly good land. IF THE LORD IS PLEASED WITH US, he will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land that flows with milk and honey.

Joshua never doubted the power of God even though everyone else felt like a grasshopper.

Joshua later led the people of Israel into ceasing all the land that God had promised.

Are you feeling like a grasshopper infront of this darkness?

Are you feeling like you are in some jail like Joseph, because of the curfews, and masks?

Are you experiencing the absence of God when your prayers don't seem answered?

The world is in endless darkness right now. The darkness is generating reactions from us as Christians. The world has gone through dark moments in the past. But the spirit of God has saved such situations in the past.. Either by changing things directly, or working through people to change the situation.

TRUST GOD BLINDLY.

And do not complain.
